From The Mayor |
On
behalf of the
City of Bayonne, I would like to welcome you to
the official web site for the Bayonne Local Redevelopment
Authority (BLRA) and the largest redevelopment effort currently
underway in the metropolitan region, The Peninsula at Bayonne
Harbor.
Our goal is to provide residents and non-residents with
up-to-date information and progress on the visionary plan to
reconnect Bayonne to its eastern waterfront and transform The
Peninsula into a vibrant, mixed-use waterfront community of
residential, light industrial, commercial and recreational
space.
Much has been accomplished since Bayonne took possession of the
former U.S. Army Base in 2001. Environmental remediation and
infrastructure improvements were completed in record time.
Redevelopment plans incorporating smart growth values and sound
planning principles were recognized with multiple awards, and
short-term and long-tenants have discovered the many advantages
which make The Peninsula a dynamic place to do business.
Progress at The Peninsula continues at a remarkable pace. Those
of us who call Bayonne home, know it is a terrific place to
live, work and play. It won’t be long before the world knows it
too. The future of The Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor is filled
with promise.

Terrence Malloy

Ready
For A Close-Up
It
started as an industrial port. Became a Navy Base in 1942, a U.S
Army Base in 1967 and ultimately returned to the City of Bayonne
for revival.
The Bayonne Local
Redevelopment Authority (BLRA) is proud to release “Unlocking
Opportunity,” a short video detailing the rich history of the
former Military Ocean Terminal and it’s transformation to The
Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor. See the substantial progress
completed on this massive redevelopment project and the exciting
developments to come. Airing this month on BAY-TV, copies are
available to the public. To order yours, call (201) 823-0333 or
